Overview of the Aim of Tantra: Awakening Kundalini Series

ShivaShakti invites you to continue to awaken into your highest potential. Join us live online to connect and practice with like-minded individuals and dive deeper into your practice with Krishna in the Aim of Tantra: Kundalini Awakening Series. Our growing on-line community is aimed at bringing forth each being’s divine light and supporting one another’s spiritual journeys. This series is comprised of one 2-hour class each month that will likely span 10-12 months. This offering may evolve throughout 2021 and the exact number of sessions will be determined as the series progresses. One can drop in for any session or attend all.

During these transformative times there are excellent opportunities for personal evolution and collective growth. Each indivual in this lifetime has the opportunity to develop themselves into a higher vision of the Self. “Awakening Kundalini” in this sense refers to conscious evolution not only for yourself, but also for your families, your communities and the world we all inhabit together. Tantra encompasses the technologies that we employ for raising of consciousness.

In this series we will explore therapeutic myths of Yoga, Vedic Cosmology, Kundalini theory and yogic sadhanas. Also, within each two hours session we will explore meditative practices, applied mantras and opportunities for reflection in breakout rooms.

Sessions in this Series include:

  • The Myth of the Churning of the Ocean of Milk
  • Awakening the Goddess Energy- Shakti Kundalini
  • The Fourteen Realms
  • The Fourteen Precious Jewels
  • The Fourteen Lunar Days
  • Dattatreya, The Teachings from the Forest
  • Chaya Yoga, The Yoga of the Shadow
  • Lord Yama Teaches to Nichiketa about Immortality
  • Darpana Yoga, The Yoga of the the Mirror
  • Swara Yoga, The Yoga of the Breath
  • Svapna Yoga, The Yoga of Dreaming

The idea by exploring these topics is to create a working perspective through yogic psychology, through synchronicty and through conscious intent to dream in the greater vision for yourself and for the emerging of a more conscious world.

Upcoming Live Session:

April 25, 2021:  Session 3: Exploring Shiva & Parvati, Ganesha & Kartikeya

Register below.

In our third session of Kundalini awakening, we will continue to explore the Divine Feminine through the therapeutic myths of Shiva and Parvati, the great birth of Ganesha and the mystical birth of his brother Kartikeya. In three separate tales we will explore the creation of Shiva and Parvati’s divine family. After the stories we will look into the deeper esoteric meanings of these Puranic myths. After the story telling portion of our program we will then enter into the meditative space and practice specific guided visualizations using tantra, mantra and mandala.

Past Sessions:

Recordings Available. It can be helpful to watch the past sessions if you missed them live before joining us for the upcoming live session.

February 28, 2021:  Session 1: The Churning of the Ocean of Milk

Recording Available. See payment info below.

In the first session, we explored how using Mount Meru as the rod and Vasuki—the king of snakes who adorns the neck of Shiva—as the rope, the Devas and the Asuras churned the milky ocean. The myth of churning the ocean corresponds to a yogi practicing their art (including meditation) to stir their vast ocean-like unconscious in order to find the nectar (soma) in their mind and merge with eternity.

March 28, 2021:  Session 2: Awakening the Goddess Energy- Shakti Kundalini

Recording Available. See payment info below.

In the second session, we will explore continue to explore the Divine Feminine through the telling of the therapeutic myth of Daksha Yajna Nasha or the Destruction of Daksha’s Fire Ceremony. In this tale Daksha invites all of the gods for a fire ceremony to celebrate himself as king. Daksha has a daughter named Sati who is in love with Lord Shiva. Daksha chooses not to invite Shiva and thus sparks a tale of transformation and awakening of Sati, the feminine energy of the goddess. After the telling we will look into the rich significance of this purana through commentary and reflection.
