COVID-19 Update – 06.11.20
Due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and the closing of Borestone Audubon Sanctuary for the 2020 season, we have shifted this retreat to a Virtual format. If you were registered for this retreat onsite and would like to shift your registration to the Virtual format, please contact us.
Devi (the Creative Energy of the universe) asks in Banter Verses 5-6 of the Radiance Sutras: “What is this power we call Life, Appearing as the play of flesh and breath? How may I know this mystery and enter it more deeply?
My attention is enthralled by a myriad of forms, Innumerable individual entities everywhere, Flashing into existence and fading away again. Lead me into the wholeness beyond all these parts.
Do me a favor, my love. Let me rest in your embrace. Refresh me with the elixir of your wisdom. Ravish me with your truth.”
Bhairava (the infinite consciousness) responds in Banter Verses 17-19 of the Radiance Sutras: “Sacred texts sing of my reality, But I cannot be found in them, For I am the one listening. I am always closer than breath.
Heat and fire are not two separate things. These are just verbal distinctions.
The Goddess and the One who holds Her are one and the same. We are inseparable. The way to me is through Her.”
Join us for a yoga and meditation retreat cultivating the union of consciousness and divine play. Drawing from the ancient wisdom of the Sri Vijnana Bhairava Tantra and a modern interpretation, The Radiance Sutras (Roche), we invite you on an exploration of the inner dialogue and dance of Shiva (consciousness) and Shakti (creative energy, the divine play). As the Sri Vijnana Bhairava Tantra teaches, Shakti is the face of Shiva and Shiva is revealed through Shakti. Through dynamic meditations, pranayama and other yogic sadhanas we invoke the energies of Shakti and Shiva to inquire into the nature of reality.
Each morning we will awaken to the energies of life inherent in our beings with a Kundalini Yoga practice and guided meditation. Meditations from the Sri Vijnana Bhairava Tantra invite awareness of the divinity that permeates every cell of our body and every breath we take.
Afternoons include a sadhana session consisting of pranayama and guided meditation exploring our connection to the forces of Shiva and Shakti. The evening sessions include a spiritual talk and/or silent meditation.
This three-night retreat begins with an opening session at 6 pm EDT on Thursday, August 6th and ends mid-morning on Sunday, August 9th after a morning class and closing session. This retreat is perfect for anyone with some prior yoga and meditation experience. If you have practiced yoga for awhile, but are new to meditation please feel free to contact us and check in.
What is a Virtual Retreat? Our Virtual Retreat is a live-streaming ShivaShakti At-Home immersive retreat during which you will receive teachings, engage in guided practice, and connect with other participants through an easy-to-use online platform (Zoom). We encourage you to create a retreat environment during our days together, by setting aside these 3 days to be focused predominately on spiritual practice, creating a dedicated retreat space, removing yourself as much as possible from social media and other online work/communication with the exception of the online retreat, and avoiding trips. We invite you to sink into an inner retreat space in your own home with the support/guidance of our Online Retreat Format.
This retreat is meant to be attended live, however the entire retreat will be available in recorded format for registered participants after the retreat finishes. To receive 300-hr AYTT credit or YA CEs for this retreat, you must attend live.
