The ShivaShakti Yoga Teacher Training Course is a comprehensive Yoga Alliance approved 200-hour level program. The course is designed to initiate students onto the path of yoga and prepare one to teach others. The program offers a strong foundation in asana, concentrating on alignment, vinyasa (flow,) strength, and breath. ShivaShakti Yoga is a yoga of hard and soft with asana classes varying from physically vigorous Vinyasa flows to softer and more gentle classes. Emphasis is placed on the development of one’s personal practice, as well as, teaching methodology and its practical application. Classical yogic philosophy is interwoven throughout the program, drawing on Vedantic and Tantric beliefs. Students receive a thorough education in Anatomy and Physiology as it pertains to a yoga practice.The program also includes daily yogic chanting and meditation. Upon completion of the course, students receive their ShivaShakti Yoga Teacher Certification and are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as a RYT. ShivaShakti School of Yoga is a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance.
ShivaShakti School of Yoga offers the Weekend- Format Course at Bliss Yoga & Healing Arts in the town of Union, Maine. This schedule is beneficial to those students who want to continue working and living at home while participating in the program. The month interval between trainings provides ample time for assimilation of the depth of knowledge being covered. Students meet for seven 3-day weekends spanning six months. In between the weekend trainings, students are expected to practice regularly, honing the skills and embodying the information covered in the training. ShivaShakti chooses to limit enrollment and keep their Teaching Trainings intimate in order to offer students more individualized attention and an open, learning environment. Courses enroll up to 20 students for plenty of student-teacher connection time.
